Alphacritters
"Children's name pictures in whimsical animal character's"
Alphacritters originated from an idea that Karen Hawley had as a kid. Back then, she did “name pictures” in water colors for friends and family alike and was surprised to discover that a cousin after many years, still had hers hanging in her room! This got her and her mom thinking and through Linda’s encouragement especially, Alphacritters was born. The artwork was done in 1996 and copyrighted in 1997. The Alphacritters alphabet consists of 39 art objects drawn (ink on art board) by Karen Hawley and Linda Powers. Sadly in November, 2007 Karen passed. Since then, Linda has done all the pictures as well as painting (acrylics) frames using a mixture of techniques. She strives to perpetuate Karen’s memory and preserve her legacy by exhibiting at shows in Eastern Canada. Our product is a happy one, a lasting one, and makes people smile. Customers appreciate the detail in the artwork and the whimsical nature of the characters.
